This is the best place for all the heavy hitters. I am so thrilled with the level of culinary skill that I want everyone who appreciates great desi food to get to experience the food here. I started coming here a month after they opened. I've probably eaten here 5 times and ordered out 4 times. In particular, these are my favorite things to order: The Non-Veg platter. It includes: ------ Tandoori Chicken: most tender tandoori chicken I've ever had in ages. It compared a legendary tandoori spot that I went to in the Margalla Hills in Pakistan. Chicken Manchurian: a classic indochinese fusion dish, it takes crispy fried chicken and tosses it in a perfectly tangy, not too spicy, savory sauce. Chili Momo (4 pieces): The crispy fried dumpling is filled with a juicy, herbaceous, super tasty ground chicken. It's then tossed In sauce of garlicy onions & bell peppers. Fried fish: perfectly fried appetizer bites of breaded fish are topped with minced fried red onions. The topping is SO GOOD. ------ Butter Chicken: you can taste the Ghee and the cream. It's so good and the chicken is tender tender tender. It's served with fluffy basmati rice in copper dishes. Chicken Lababdar. A Mughlai dish that you never see on most menus unless you're in South Asia. This is a MUST try. The chicken is tender and the cashew, ghee, and cream sauce is incredible. We always order this. Naan: The fluffy garlic naan is topped with ghee and there is whole fennel seed in the dough. It tastes so good when it's cooked. Chapati- 2 smaller pieces in an order. They are soft and delicious. Gulab Jamun- served warm. It is THE BEST with layers of flavor, made with ghee, bathed in an aromatic syrup. Mango lassi- they use fresh mango. It's great. All the chutneys and sauces are substantial, super fresh, and aromatic.
Great for small parties or even large parties as they have a beautiful large table in the back room for a more private event! The food and flavors are impeccable! Authentic chefs from Nepal that will dazzle your tastebuds. Great service. Can’t say enough of how good this place is!
Bir kitchen is a new Nepali restaurant that is family owned and operated. Everything here from the staff to the food is warm and inviting. As the weather gets colder, fresh cooked food like this is perfect. I got the masala papadum, piro chatpate, baby corn manchurian, tandoori momo, and also the house special biryani. - The appetizers were really fun and crunchy to eat. The piro chatpate has crushed up instant noodle and seasoning, and eating it felt really whimsical. I think it would be a great bar snack with a beer. - I loved the baby corn manchurian! The chili sauce is savory, sweet, and tangy, while the corn adds a slight crunch. - It was my first time having momos tandoori style, and I really enjoyed the meat filling. Preparing it tandoori style takes a lot of time so I applaud the effort that goes into this dish. The homemade green chutney is superb, and the spice gradually adds as you eat more. - house special dum biryani is artfully made. I can taste the curated spice blend like saffron, cardamom, coriander, and more. This spice is the one that grows from your belly, not the spice that burns your tongue. Bir Kitchen has a huge menu, tons to choose from. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Perfect for sharing with a group. Please support small businesses like Bir Kitchen!
Samosa chaat split between my husband and I as an appetizer filled us up rather quickly. We still ordered gobi (cauliflower) manchurian, fulki pani puri, and tandoori style chicken momos. We had some leftovers as expected and will definitely be back to try the other four variations of momos they offer (steamed, pan-fried, jhol, and chili).
