I tried Gurung Kitchen during my first visit to San Francisco. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, wonderful food, and an inviting staff. If you're not sure what to order (because everything looks good, and you're indecisive like me), I recommend asking the staff for recommendations. My party had the privilege of being served by the restaurant owner; she guided us through the menu and made wonderful suggestions. We especially loved the Nepalese dumplings! I highly recommend trying Gurung Kitchen if you are a fan of South Asian cuisine.

We had a fantastic experience at Gurung Kitchen! Deepak was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious—the presentation was thoughtful and inviting, and every dish was full of flavor. We had the best chowmein we’ve had in a long time—it instantly took me back to the flavors of Nepal. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic and comforting Nepali cuisine!

We tried the gobi Manchurian, buffalo chili momo, goat thakali thali set, and chicken friend rice. It was daunting as I was not familiar with traditional Nepalese food, and the waitress was very kind and offered her assistance and recommendations. Overall the food was rich in flavor and there was a spicy condiment available. You can get complimentary refills on the rice / lentils. We also got a complimentary rice pudding desert. Would recommend!

Very nice Nepali restaurant. Loved the food here. Had chow mein, gobi manchurian and chili paneer. All the things tasted good. They had just the right amount of all spices, which is super rare. The staff was super nice. For complimentary papad too. The price was reasonably good. The quantity was also fine. The tea was nice and strong too. Good place for vegetarians.

Gurung Kitchen is an absolute gem! The dhido deserves a solid 5/5—perfectly cooked and flavorful. Every dish is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, showcasing authentic and high-quality ingredients. The service is exceptional, warm, and personalized, making you feel genuinely valued as a guest. The atmosphere is inviting and chill, ideal for both casual dining and a relaxed evening out. Even the restroom is impressively well-maintained and smells fresh, which speaks volumes about their attention to detail. We highly recommend Gurung Kitchen and will definitely be coming back for more!
