Had a phenomenal take out order from Himalayan House. We did a pickup right before closing. The food was piping hot and really flavorful. Standout dishes were veggie korma, which we had extra spicy, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and veggie samosas. We actually stopped here on our way from the airport and it was a perfect pickup location. Highly recommend. Nice sized parking lot in the back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Himalayan House in Chula Vista is a gem! The Chicken Biryani was fragrant and flavorful, the garlic naan soft and fresh, and the momos absolutely delicious. On top of the amazing food, the service was excellent — warm, attentive, and welcoming. Generous portions, authentic taste, and great hospitality. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say this place has the best curry and butter chicken sauce that I've ever had! The sauces are bursting with delicious flavors!! The spicy levels are 1-5 we had an order of mild spice and a 4! Both were very enjoyable!! The spices and chicken taste fresh and made to order! The butter naan bread goes perfectly with the curry and is served warm and delicious! The lentil soup comes with the meal and is served as an appetizer. I have never been fond of lentil soup till I tasted this one! It is so full of flavor! I can't say enough about the food! Service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is traditional and colorful with cool OM light shades over the table. We had a great dinner experience.

We recently visited this Himalayan restaurant and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, mainly due to poor service and lack of communication. From the start, the server seemed impatient and difficult to communicate with. When we asked questions or tried to clarify things, she appeared irritated and not very welcoming. She mentioned they were “closing soon,” and I specifically asked if we could still dine in. She said yes, so we assumed it was fine — but later we were told we were charged an 18% “large party” fee (even though we were only a group of five). The menu clearly stated that the fee applies to parties of six or more. When my coworker called afterward to ask about the charge, the staff member explained it was because we stayed between 2–3 PM, even though they were supposed to be closed. That was never communicated to us at any point. If they had simply told us there would be an extra charge or that the kitchen was closing, we would have understood and chosen to leave. The overall service felt unwelcoming. Our server never offered to-go boxes and made it seem like she didn’t want to be there. The atmosphere lacked the hospitality we expected. My portion — one entrée and one appetizer — ended up costing $45 after the unexpected 18% charge (an extra $21 on the bill). We even left an additional $15 tip, not realizing the service fee had already been added, which was frustrating considering how poor the service was. On a positive note, the food itself was good, and none of us had any issues after eating it. However, because of the service experience, lack of clear communication, and the unexpected charges, I will not be returning. For the price and treatment, it simply wasn’t worth it.

Updated review. The chai tea was good. The chicken and rice was a family portion. First review. Ordered the shrimp curry and rice. Also ordered the garlic naan bread. I truly believe the shrimp curry was the best curry I have ever eaten. I also tried the chicken curry which was ordered without spice and it was great too. With the meal came a bowl of Lentil soup. This was also very delicious. We ordered 2 orders of Naan bread which was pictured in the video. Everything tasted so fresh. Highly recommend this place.
