AMAZING FOOD. We came in around 7pm and were the only people there. I couldn’t believe how empty it was because the food is incredible!! Rich flavors, fresh, and the family running the place is so kind and welcoming. Affordable prices and such a fun experience eating in an old train car. So cute! A must eat when in the area. Highly recommend!
This is my fourth attempt (2x dining in, 2x carry out) and I am again disappointed in the portion size and lack of flavor, especially given the price. I stopped ordering the naan and rice after my first two attempts (rice was dried out, naan was bland and chewy) and now just make my own at home. Tonight I ordered the lamb tikka w/ medium spice (a favorite dish of mine) which tasted average but was 90% sauce with 6 small, non-tender, pieces of meat. I should’ve learned my lesson as my previous dishes (ordered 3 and 4 out of 5 spice level) have also had minimal spice/flavor. I really wanted to love this place given its prime location and absolutely charming feel. The menu has great variety of traditional options. Their service has always been prompt without issues and everyone I’ve interacted with has been extremely kind. Given the lack of Nepalese restaurants in the area and my love for the cuisine, I may venture a 5th attempt (will order high spice) and update my review when I do.
Delicious food! This was the first time I have been inside this building - in the 40 years I have lived near Sebastopol - and found it fun to eat inside this restaurant as a first. The waiter was super friendly, it was cozy and warm, and the service was great. I got the Veggie dish (pictured) which came with soup. I enjoyed a taste of Nepalese food as it satisfied my one-in-a-blue moon mood for Indian food without all the heavy spices. The veggies were all cooked nicely, and the sauce was very tasty. Loved the mango dressing on the salad. A nice array and flavors and nice atmosphere to match! :)
Such a sweet experience! My son, who had been living in Nepal the last 7 years, loved the food and the staff. We started with some dal/lentil soup and then onto the veggie pakora and some veggie momos! All so good and tasty! My son was transported back to the streets of Kathmandu! We then had the tofu saag curry with rice! So tasty! We didn't have room for dessert, but thought about it... and the restaurant is located inside an old railroad car! Super cool! Catch the train to Kathmandu! 😉
If I could give zero stars, I would—and honestly, even that feels too generous. We waited two hours for our food. Two. Hours. And what makes it worse? A guy ahead of us, also hadn’t received his food. So at least the incompetence was consistent. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being ignored while your stomach eats itself out of boredom.
