Taste of the Himalayas

We came here on a week night and it wasn't busy at all. The pictures show that ambiance is better than it truly is. The lighting is a little dark. There was only one server and about 4 tables occupied (including ours). I could see that at least one table had been waiting a while for their orders. We got the steamed vegetable momos, the mismas tarkari, the onion naan and the garlic naan, and the vegetable biryani. The food was average. I was disappointed with the garlic naan because despite being soft, there wasn't enough garlic on it. The onion naan was better. The momos were fine. They could do with more seasoning. The accompanying sauce helped elevating the flavor. The mismas tarkari was pretty much a mixed vegetable dish. It was tasty but not superlative. The biryani was actually the best of the lot, but also just ok. Pricing is on par for the area but you do question whether or not it is worth it for average Indian food, especially when it is something I make at home. For the times that I want a break and get takeout, I may consider looking for a different restaurant.

This restaurant is incredibly authentic and consistent with my experiences with Nepali cuisine. I felt like I was back in Kathmandu all over again! The food is a little bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it.

The food was so delicious. The ambience was nice: calm music and decorative interior. The service was friendly and prompt.

This was hands down the worst Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. The korma was basically a watered-down soup, bland and absolutely lifeless. The naan was so dry and stale it was more like a pita bread frisbee with the mere thought of butter on it, like someone maybe whispered “butter” to it from across the room months ago. I ordered an 8/10 spiciness for my korma, but it was about as spicy as a glass of milk. Atrocious! Can't believe I spent over $40 for it.
